Rutronik turns 50. The anniversary needed a closing piece. What began in a double garage in Ispringen had grown into 1,900 employees, more than 80 locations and €1.28 billion in annual revenue. That story had to fit into one film that works worldwide. Premiere at anniversary celebrations in Liechtenstein, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Rome, Bolton and Fort Lauderdale.
Fifty years can't be summed up in two minutes. They can be traveled through.
The film is a journey through time in the literal sense. Four chapters, four decades, each with its own set. It opens in front of a garage in Ispringen. Then the eighties, with wallpaper, suits and semiconductors. Then the rise to global distributor. Then the present, as a provider of system solutions for the markets of tomorrow.

Corporate film, a little over two minutes. Three sets built in a studio in Stuttgart, plus footage from the logistics center in Eisingen. Actors in front of the camera, with Rutronik employees playing themselves in between. Alongside it, a making-of for the careers platform.

I turned the concept into a shootable version and aligned it visually with the client before the camera rolled. The basis was a complete storyboard I built with Midjourney. In 2022 that was still unusual, and image AI was in its infancy.
The effect was concrete. Rutronik could see the film instead of having to imagine it. Iterations happened in pre-production rather than on set. Corrections cost hours instead of shooting days.

The film closed the anniversary campaign "Committed to Celebrate". It premiered at the celebrations worldwide, from Liechtenstein to Fort Lauderdale. Alongside it came the relaunch of the rutronik.com homepage with a stronger focus on video, plus a dedicated making-of on the careers page.
